Aaron Swartz noticed on his weblog that Google lets you now search for synonyms of a keyword. This is accomplished by placing a ~ character directly in front of the keyword in the search box. Sweet!

Then someone else discovered that you can figure out what synonyms Google is using. Try searching for your synonym keyword and then exclude the same keyword from results, like so ~help -help

Well, yeah, except it doesn’t work with web’s most popular keyword :-) You still get plenty of pages containing the word.
