Microsoft is a rotten company and all they products suck, except maybe for their Mac OS and hardware products. That’s what I used to believe, but it seems I was wrong.
There’s this Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 4000 I bought the other day… Its middle-button only clicks when pushed maniacally, like an elevator button in a thriller. It seems to works better if the mouse is held upside-down.
I paid the premium 45€ — instead of 15€ for a cheapo — because I _need_ the extra buttons and the better built. The nice guys at Darty will fix it or change it for me, or so they say on the product page. After all, they are renown for their “warranties are us” marketing message, as well as for the incompetence of their sales personnel.
So, I guess Microsoft is a rotten company, except maybe… No, let’s leave it to that, at least until they fix the French localisation bugs in MS Office 2004 and that crash with the Entourage Database Utility.

did you try the Mighty Mouse ?

The Mighty Mouse feels and works well, but it has a wire.
Not good if you move your notebook a lot.
