My user experience consulting company hired AgileSols, a development “team” from Pakistan to work on this project. This was part of a larger web development project for one of the two important clients 8 Points has.
AgileSols failed miserably. They managed to get four weeks late on a one week project, having all the required specs and support readily available. That’s a performance!
We finally hired “a friend of a friend” who gave us gorgeous, fast and reliable results.
Overall, I’m disappointed with GetAFreelancer.com. Their user interface is pretty bad and the rating system is flawed, which makes fishing in the pool of freelancers pretty risky.

Wow, what a surprise, you’ve been disappointed by the “freelancers” found on GAF…
I think you could safely post about a project requiring the nano-programming of a hyper advanced super secret new particle acceleration unit and there’d still be a handful of third world country companies jumping on and copy pasting the standard text about how they’re actually over qualified for the job.
Laughable.
PS. Check this for a good laugh (if it’s still live).

Alex: We agreed to pay a bit more and were ready to give them a bonus if the finished in time. I was not surprised by the rates, I’ve seen cheaper freelancers that actually delivered. This being an easy, classic and well documented project, I wouldn’t be surprised if a Flash meister would’ve completed it in a single day, for the same cost. Also, we ended up paying something in the same range, and the results were great.
Janos: On a previous GAF project, I was surprised by a freelancer in the US who did the work before even being chosen as the winning bid and before receiving payment or extra specifications. That was a good surprise.
The problem with GAF is that their rating system is indeed very easy to game, and that that finding your way around is not exactly obvious.
