I plaid a bit with an N95 and with an iPhone, and I was pretty ipmressed with each. My choice was the iPhone until the N95 8GB was announced.
The Nokia has everything, including a kitchen sink v2.0, but it’s clunky and slow. The iPhone is gorgeous and fun, but not exactly available in France. They each cost a bucket of money.
Any advice, beyond the obvious?

i have a N95, and i’ll get an iPhone asap is available in france, so you can have my N95 for play, and decide what you want :P

I think I’ll skip this generation of gadgets. And I think I will survive. I bought a guitar instead and I am having fun.
